Terms of Service
Effective date: 22 August 2026. By creating a Googly account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Googly.
1. What Googly is (and is not)
Googly is a free, season-long fantasy cricket game played for entertainment, recreation, and skill development. You draft a squad of real cricketers with friends and compete on the strength of those players' real-world statistics over a season.
Googly is an online social game. It is not gambling, betting, or wagering, and it is not an "online money game" within the meaning of India's Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025:
- There are no entry fees, no deposits, and no stakes. You never pay to enter a league or contest.
- In-game budgets, auction currency, and similar mechanics are virtual only, have no monetary value, cannot be purchased, and cannot be redeemed, transferred, or cashed out.
- Outcomes are determined by skill — roster construction, drafting, trading, and lineup decisions measured against real match statistics — never by chance-based draws.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account. By registering you confirm that you are 18 or older and that the information you provide is accurate. We may suspend or delete accounts that violate this requirement.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity on your account.
- One account per person. Don't impersonate others or create accounts by automated means.
- You may delete your account at any time in the app; see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
4. Fair play and acceptable use
You agree not to: manipulate league outcomes through collusion or multiple accounts; harass or abuse other members; attempt to probe, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the service; scrape the service by automated means; or use Googly to promote betting, wagering, or any online money game. League commissioners are responsible for reasonable conduct within their leagues; we may step in where conduct violates these terms.
5. Prizes (when offered)
Googly or a sponsor may occasionally offer prizes for skill-based league performance. Wherever prizes are offered:
- Entry is and remains completely free — eligibility is never conditioned on any payment, purchase, or subscription.
- Prizes are funded by Googly or a named sponsor, never from a pool of user money.
- Winners are determined solely by league standings (skill), never by a random draw.
- Prizes may be subject to tax withholding and reporting under applicable law (including deduction of tax at source on winnings under Indian income-tax law), and winners may be asked to provide the details lawfully required for that (such as PAN).
- Specific prize terms (what, when, eligibility) will be published with each prize.
6. Content and data
Match and player statistics are sourced from third-party providers and may occasionally be delayed, corrected, or contain errors; scoring adjustments that follow from source corrections are final. Player photographs remain the property of their respective owners. The Googly name, product, and design are ours; these terms don't grant you any rights in them beyond using the service.
7. Service availability
Googly is seasonal and provided free of charge. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features (or the service) at any time, including between seasons. We aim for reliability during active seasons but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the same extent, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of a free entertainment service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, the law, or the spirit of fair play, with notice where practicable. You may stop using Googly and delete your account at any time.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Complaints go first to our Grievance Officer; disputes that cannot be resolved that way are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected in the effective date above and notified in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
